Walter Eugene Fowler Sr, born February 4th 1922, served time in the Marine Corp during the conflict in Guadalcanal in World War two. Though it is not specified, there is probable cause to link him to PTSD given his Purple Heart being tied frequently to combat exposure, and his time in one of the most crucial points in the Pacific theater of World War two. Also given his place of death in Cumming City Cemetery, it places him in very close proximity to Dahlonega GA, a known long-standing home of UNG Dahlonega, a heavily military-oriented city. The probability that Mr. Fowler found himself in and or around the Dahlonega area is high which finds him as a vital contribution to not only the history of Dahlonega, but its association with the re-integration of veterans into the civilian community. Fowler died January 9th 1979 in Forsyth County.1
